JACK'S EXPERIENCE IN THE RCI BANK DEPARTMENT AT RCI FINANCIAL SERVICES

Hi I’m Jack. I am currently interning at RCI Bank for my placement year. I am studying International Finance and Banking at Sheffield Hallam University, so a placement year at a bank only seemed natural.

During my time here at RCI Bank I have been fortunate enough to be trusted to lead projects and conduct market research independently whilst also working closely, on a day to day basis, with my colleagues in the Bank team. Everybody knows what’s expected of them. However, this does not mean you will be glued to your desk all day. RCI Bank has a great ethos, friendly staff and a willingness to help you develop as an individual and an employee. Having experienced only 4 months of the placement it excites me to see what the rest of the year will hold.

Working within the bank team brings new challenges every week. This internship scheme and the bank team have treated me like a real member of the team, expecting you to do your part of the work load but also allowing you the benefits of working in the team. The bank is a small, close knit, team meaning that I have managed to see and work on every aspect of what the bank team does whilst I’ve been here.
